Southwest Florida News
After a slow 2002, there may be an improvement in the region's service-oriented economy. A continued influx of retirees will support new construction and retail jobs, while buoying the country club and luxury home markets.

While Collier County has nearly depleted its supply of land for new subdivisions, Lee County is likely to experience stronger growth in years to come. The Naples Fort Myers market is expected to be one of the fasted growing in the State over the next 5 years. The combination of a State University, a major airport and planned research and corporate parks create opportunities for economic development.

Guatemala At A Glance

Because of so much interest and so many questions from you, our readers, regarding Carla Bonten Realty, Inc.’s expansion into Central America, particularly Guatemala; we figured we’d give you a little glance into this exotic and beautiful country.

Guatemala has a population of around 12.9 million people, the greatest GDP (Gross Domestic Product) of Central America… around US$18 billion, ports on both the Atlantic and Pacific sides of the country, and agriculture – the main “cornerstone” of Guatemala’s economy with coffee, sugar, and bananas alone generating over US$ 1 Billion. Most importantly, it is considered the leading economy in Central America.

But putting aside some of those impressive figures for Central America, why is Guatemala a country to invest and vacation in? The answer is very simple. Guatemala is growing and expanding in the tourist and economic markets providing you with an array of opportunities that seem all but lost in the everyday hustle and bustle of busy business schedules.

If you’re planning on visiting simply for the aesthetics of natural beauty and breath-taking views, look no further than Guatemala.

Depending on what you’d like to do, you can find anything from hiking and touring the old Mayan ruins of Tikal to visiting special Eco-tourism farms like Finca El Barretal, or enjoying boating and sailing off the the shores of Amatique Bay on the Caribbean…just about 1.5 hours west of the famous Belizean Keys.

If you’re looking for a place that shows promise of growth of investments, Guatemala is calling out to you.

New resorts such as Amatique Bay Resort and Marina which boasts a 185 boat slip marina, future exclusive Yacht Club, 18-hole golf course, and much more, are starting to show up and are in the early

stages of growth. As a potential investor, you can buy/invest low and see the value of your investment grow in with a little bit of time and patience.

If you prefer owning your own get-away or permanent residence, Amatique Bay Resort & Marina, Antigua City, or Guatemala City may hold the key to you what you’ve been looking for.

Any way you look at it, you can invest in anything from a beautiful country home overlooking country sides, beaches, and seas to lavish 5-Star hotels that bring you, your families, and your patrons the best in service and luxury.

At a glimpse, there is much Guatemala can offer you. The best part is, AFFORDABILITY allows you to find most anything you may need and want. Make it “your unknown destination holding your world with promise.”
